synopsis
After decades of silence, former musician Jasper Logue sells his vintage guitar to a local shop, believing his creative life is finally over. But when Malik Rhodes, a talented young producer stuck in self-doubt and a dead-end retail job, discovers Jasper's old albums and begins sampling them into new beats, an unexpected spark ignites.
When fate brings them together, an unlikely collaboration forms—Jasper's timeless melodies meeting Malik's modern production sensibility. As they work together in a cramped rehearsal space, they begin to trust each other with the vulnerable parts of themselves they've kept hidden. But something's still missing.
Enter Carmen Reyes, a nurse who has spent years silencing her powerful voice, humming only when she thinks no one is listening. When Jasper and Malik hear her sing, they realize they've found the missing piece. Carmen, however, must overcome a lifetime of self-doubt and the fear of being truly seen.
Set in a revitalized arts district where creativity and community intertwine, REMEMBER THE GROOVE follows three lost souls as they discover that making music isn't about perfection—it's about connection, courage, and allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to create something beautiful with others.
As they prepare for their first public performance at The Lantern, a beloved neighborhood venue, each must confront what's been holding them back. For Jasper, it's grief and the belief that his time has passed. For Malik, it's the paralyzing fear that he's not good enough. For Carmen, it's the courage to finally let her voice be heard.
A heartfelt celebration of second chances, creative collaboration, and the healing power of music, REMEMBER THE GROOVE reminds us that it's never too late to rediscover what makes you feel alive.
