Kate hasn't seen her younger sister, Holly, in three years, after Holly disappeared, running away from home. In those years following, Kate created a successful true crime podcast dealing with missing persons, named in honor of her sister, "For Holly."

Kate never thought she would see her sister again., Until a phone call from an emergency hospital in Indiana. Holly has been found. Alive, but in critical condition, after having been attacked by a mysterious truck driver.

Together, the sisters set out on a road trip, retracing Holly's path across the country. The sisters have the help of a driven FBI agent, Lauren. Together they search for the serial killer, Driver, while also coming to terms with the family trauma that drove them apart.
