Austin Under the Stars aims to make film festivals fun again! The only festival in Texas that screens under the stars - a truly unique showcase for your films & screenplays. Offering live music, a bar & girll, 30+ awards, filmmaker Q&As, & an audience choice award, AUTS is well worth the price of entry. Come see why AUTS is rated in the Top 100 Best Reviewed! 

AUTS is held at the Lone Star Court Hotel in Austin, TX. 


Prior to the screening, filmmakers are invited to join for a private cocktail mixer - a perfect opportunity to network, discuss projects, & unwind before showtime. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with all the attending filmmakers & screenwriters. The audience will have the opportunity to learn more about the films, screenplays, & upcoming projects.
The evening ends with an Award Ceremony - where we acknowledge the incredible efforts with over 30 awards to give out. AUTS promises to be a successful event with several potential business opportunities. The networking during the VIP cocktail hour and 30+ awards handed out at the event will be inspiring and fulfilling for all participants. AUTS also provides a portion of all proceeds to Autism Society of Texas - without taking away from the amazing cause, this is great PR for any business organization looking to broaden its charitable portfolio and make a difference in our community.

JUDGE

AUTS currently has a 12 person international judge panel.

Each judge is required to:

  • watch a minimum of 100 entries (Judges may not submit a project to the festival). 

  • have a background in film. 

  • Cover 4 hour shift at ticketing or red carpet setup/takedown 

​

Judges are non-paid volunteer positions. Judges are given complementary VIP badges & AUTS hoodies, as well as invites to our deliberations, mixers, & social events. 

Judges are also invited to attend our partner festivals in Austin.
